Nipika operates in harmony with nature. We are completely off the grid, sourcing power from the sun and surrounding forest. All of Nipika’s electricity is generated with renewable, clean solar energy. And the majority of Nipika’s heating needs are satisfied by salvaging dead wood from the woodlot and burning it in a central boiler to provide hot water heating to the guest cabins and other buildings. Hot water is supplied using the same system. Our cozy log cabins were built from the same salvaged wood, logged, milled and built onsite. Every cabin has a full kitchen, bathroom, bed linens, coffee, tea, salt, pepper, sugar and shampoo and conditioner. If you don't want to cook order cabin catering and have your meal ready to heat and serve delivered right to your cabin.
It is Nipika’s goal for guests to enjoy Canada’s Rocky Mountains in non-consumptive ways: enjoy the spectacular setting using self-propelled activities. Our trail system starts right at your door step. Nipika has 50km of cross-country ski trails, 50+ km of single track trails for biking, hiking, running and snowshoeing in the winter, as well as 30km of fat bike trails.
Don't miss out on one of the Nipika daily activities. Day trips run daily with your pick of activity. Spend the day canoeing down the Kootenay River or spend a couple hour on the back of a horse exploring the many trails Nipika has to offer. Looking for an alpine hike and make it to one of the ridges above the resort, there are many hikes to choose from. Winter we still have you covered. Nipika provides daily cross country ski lessons; Skate or classic skiing, group or private lessons.
